4 Things You Should Decide Before Planning Your Wedding
Weddings are always complicated to plan. There are so many aspects to it. Sometimes planning a wedding could take months. Well, you only get married once, so you should take all the time in the world. However, there are a few important things that you should get out of the way first. These things can’t wait for a couple of months until you finish planning your wedding. They require your immediate and undivided attention. Here are 4 things you should decide before planning your wedding.
The Budget
It’s imperative that you decide upon a budget for your wedding before the planning stage. You don’t want to end up spending too much, do you? After all, you’re going to have a life after the wedding as well. Come up with a budget that both you and your partner feel comfortable with. You should also incorporate the honeymoon cost into this, just to be on the safe side. You don’t want that expense creeping up on you afterwards. Having a fixed budget will also help you during the planning phase. You’ll know exactly how much you can afford to spend.
The Date
Your wedding date has a direct bearing on your planning and your budget. A spring wedding could end up costing you a lot, so if you’re under a tight budget then opt for a winter wedding instead. You could give it a ‘Game of Thrones’ theme if you’d like. Once the date has been fixed you’ll know exactly how much time you have to finish planning your wedding. If need be you should remain engaged for more than a year if that means you can have the perfect wedding. There’s no need for you to rush into anything.
The Venue
You need to book wedding reception venues months in advance to actually get them. If you end up waiting till the last minute, then you may not get the venue of your choice. Then you’ll just have to resign yourself to the second best. As soon as you set the wedding date make it a point to set the venue as well. There’s a long waiting period for these places, so the sooner you do it the better. If you haven’t decided upon a venue yet, then that should be your first order of business. Even before selecting the catering service.
The Band
Just like the venue the wedding band also has a waiting period. At least the good ones do. If you have a particular band that you want playing at your wedding, then it’s best to book them as soon as possible. You never know who might steal them away. Remember that episode from ‘Friends’ where Monica goes shopping for her wedding gown? Your first dance as a married couple must be special, so choose the band carefully. It makes up for half of the magic that you feel at a wedding. If you want to feel that magic at your wedding, then you should pick the right band. Perhaps you could hire ‘The Dan Band’.
Planning a wedding is tough, but once you get the important things out of the way it doesn’t seem all that difficult. Once you’ve taken care of the things mentioned on this list planning the rest of the wedding should be a breeze.
