Choosing the Perfect Spot for Your Special Day
Location is everything, especially when it comes to your special day. So how do you go about choosing the perfect venue for your upcoming nuptials? Your choice is going to depend largely on how big of a wedding you’re planning and the personal preferences of you and your significant other. Here are three things to keep in mind when making your decision:
1. Think about your guests. Your circle of friends and family, and their specific life circumstances, should play a large factor in your venue. For example, if you are close with a lot of families with children or those in their retirement years, a location wedding isn’t the best bet. Remember, you won’t be able to keep everyone on the guest list 100% happy (there’s always one) but keeping them in mind when choosing your location will give you the best chance of having those that mean the most to you partake in your day.
2. Are you religious? Depending on your beliefs, you may be limited to a religious establishment. If this is the case for you, you can focus your energy on choosing a fab spot for the reception.
3. How much work will the venue entail? There are two extremes when it comes to weddings: a reception hall, which typically offers packages, taking a lot of the work off of your plate, and unique locations (like a warehouse) where you have to do everything from scratch. Before you finalize your decision, think through these details: no matter how much you want a memorable venue, if you’d rather have a low-stress affair, a place that typically caters to weddings may be a better choice.
