Coconut Oil Is All the Beauty Hype

Coconut Oil Is All the Beauty Hype

The image of a coconut immediately brings our focus to tropical destinations and a deliciously sweet smell. DIY, at home projects are increasingly on the rise, and coconut oil is a great addition to add to beauty usages. Coconut oil is becoming increasingly represented by many women, including Gwyneth Paltrow and her organic skin-care line. Coconut oil has both antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and carries an extensive list of effective beauty benefits.

1. Makeup- Coconut oil works wonders used as a moisturizer for dry skin that needs a little extra love and attention. You can get creative and make your own brand of moisturizer by mixing coconut oil, olive oil and your favorite essential oil. As for making your cat-eye look on point and one side doesn’t exactly match, you can use coconut oil to quickly re-do your symmetrical creation in seconds. Or, if you like a little glow to complete your favorite makeup look, adding a tiny coconut oil on the cheekbones will give the face just the right touch. And when you are ready to settle in after your adventurous day, coconut oil comes to the rescue, as a gentle makeup remover.

2. Body- Instead of spending your hard, earned magical beans on high-end eye creams, grab a jar of coconut oil and dab it on under-eye bags and fine lines. For those that live in cooler climates during the winter months, it makes a great cuticle and hand cream to keep your hands looking young. Or, you can replace any paraban quality lotions with all natural coconut oil for your daily body lotion. For those ladies out there that are fitness queens and create muscle by the day, utilizing coconut oil as a stretch mark preventive will go a long way. For the glowing soon to be mother’s, spoiling yourself daily with coconut oil will help keep the skin full of moisture for the skin’s changes.

3. Oil Pulling- Coconut oil is a terrific way to remove bacteria, promote healthy teeth and gums, as well as whiten teeth. As an oral detoxification, oil pulling therapy is performed by swishing a tablespoon of oil in the mouth for 10-20 minutes, first thing in the morning. For best results it is best to wash the mouth out with salt water and brush your teeth to complete. Oil pulling shows it’s effectiveness by sucking out the toxins and creating a clean, antiseptic oral environment that prevents disease and future cavities. To name a few, the benefits of oil pulling are to help cure tooth decay, reduce inflammation, boost immune system, whiten teeth and improve acne.

If being mindful to what you are ingesting, putting topically on your body and cosmetically matter to you, then coconut oil is the next beauty go to! So simple and yet, so priceless! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Be the best version of yourself!
