Homemaking Made Simple

Homemaking Made Simple

Good morning! Being a wife – whether you have been a wife for two weeks or twenty years – always comes with fun times and new challenges. One of the fun parts about it is that you (and your husband) get to create your own little home together – a place where your family can thrive. While planning home decor can sometimes be stressful, BrideWifeMom.com is here to make things as simple as possible for you! These are a few of my favorite tips for turning your house into a home.

1. Make sure there is plenty of lighting. Something as simple as good lighting goes along way in making a home a relaxing place to be! Our bodies are naturally happier when they are exposed to more light. Natural lighting is the best, so pull aside those curtains and let the sun in! And if you do have rooms without windows, make sure there are plenty of lamps or light fixtures.

2. Burn candles. Candles turn four walls and a roof into a comfy, cozy living space. Feel free to experiment with different kinds and scents and find what you like best. You can even find unscented candles if you want the atmosphere but don’t want a smell. Either way, candles – whether big or small – can make any room a lovely and relaxing place to be.

3. Incorporate nature. Bringing nature into the home is a beautiful way to dress up your place. Find green plants (cactuses work great if you don’t have a green thumb) and fresh flowers to decorate with. They don’t have to be fancy or expensive, either. Many small plants can be gotten quite inexpensively. You might even want to get a desktop waterfall or use outdoorsy scents. Whatever suits your fancy!

4. Use handmade art. If you are an inner artist, don’t be afraid to show it off! Use your own work to decorate your house, and you’ll be surprising at how at home you feel. And honestly, the personal touch will make others love to be in your home as well. If you are not really an artist, you probably have friends who are. So make use of what you have at your fingertips!

Homemaking is a fun project that the two of you can work on together. And then you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your beautiful home! Have fun!
