Late Night Snacks At Weddings

Late Night Snacks At Weddings

The majority of your guests have left and it’s down to the core group of friends and family. This does not mean that they don’t need to fed and watered. So, yes, after toiling over every detail of your wedding ceremony and reception, you still have to think about what snacks you will need for the after-after-party.

Now, this really depends on the preferences of your guests, the theme of your wedding and the reception menu. For instance, cheeseboard and port will not go down well with a steak-and-potatoes kind of crowd. Nor will sticky toffee pudding be welcomed after a heavy sit-down dinner. So, keep all these things in mind while you choose your late night snacks. And, of course, bear in mind that these snacks should not be shadowed by your reception menu. In other words, they have to be as exciting as and, perhaps, tastier than whatever was served previously.

Just to give you an idea of the kinds of things you can serve as late-night snacks, here are five of my favorites:

Fruit Parfaits are the perfect way to end the day, especially if your guests have had a really heavy dinner. Nothing can compare to the fluffy creaminess of the parfait mixed with the sharp but sweet flavors of raspberries and strawberries.

Mini Cheeseburgers and Fries are a quirky twist of the classic American favorite. They are peculiar and amusing, possibly tickling a few funny bones. They can also look really elegant if served on a small white plate with the fries in a tall shot glass.

Mini donuts and coffee are absolutely adorable if the coffee is served in a shot glass and the donuts are amusingly small and hung around the stirrer. It is a good way to keep the guests awake by serving up some caffeine and a great way to make them smile.

Chocolate Mousse Shots. Serve chocolate mousse in shot glasses with a pretty slice of chocolate, simple and always a treat. These are perfect for guests with a sweet tooth who want a light snack. Just be sure to have triple servings for each expected guest because they’ll be very popular.

Mushroom and Blue Cheese Crackers are yummy, savory slices that are slightly more unusual compared to their normal counterparts. Give your guests a delightful surprise as they bite into plain-looking crackers, only to find them full of interesting flavors.

These are only ideas to get you going. You can go wildly creative with your late night snacks, just make sure that they are bite-sized and easy to handle.
