The Top 5 Must Have Makeup Items for the Perfect Bridal Look

Makeup can be very intimidating, especially when it comes to wedding looks. There are many products and looks to choose from, but what is best for a wedding? It is important to play up your natural beauty. These five products are perfect for giving that perfect ethereal glow. They are universally amazing for any occasion, skin type, and skin color. These are the top five must have makeup items for your perfect bridal look!

5. A highlighter

Highlighters are great because they bring light to the high points of your face. The typical places to put a highlighter are on the high points of the cheek bones, the bridge of the nose, the cupid’s bow, on the inner corners of the eye, and underneath the eyebrow. Highlighters are very popular now, so there is a lot of variety. If you want your highlight to be seen from Mars, choose something like The Balm’s “Mary Lou-Manizer” or Becca Cosemetic’s “Opal.” If you want a more natural look, Wet ‘N’ Wild’s “Reserve Your Cabana” is great.

4. A luminous face primer

Typically, primers are put underneath foundation to help the makeup last all day, but there is so much variety now that you can find a primer for any purpose. For a wedding look, a luminous face primer would look gorgeous. Luminous face primers bring out a natural glow to the skin. It makes a subtle, yet beautiful difference. A great high-end option would be the Becca Backlight Priming Filter. If you are on a budget, the L’oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer is a must have. They help you shine like the goddess that you are.

3. A champagne colored eyeshadow

This kind of eyeshadow is great to have on a day-to-day basis. It normally has some sparkle with pink undertones. It looks absolutely phenomenal in wedding looks. Champagne eyeshadow compliments any eye shape and brings a beautiful iridescence to the face. My favorite champagne shadow is the Urban Decay eyeshadow in “Sin.”

2. A white/cream pencil eyeliner

Don’t be scared! This is not going where eyeliner typically goes. Putting a white or cream liner in the waterline of the eye will make the eyes pop. It makes the eyes look awake, bright, and full. This is an incredible trick to know when doing wedding makeup. Putting black on the waterline closes up the eyes and nobody wants that. A wonderful affordable product to try this trick with is the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in “Milk.”

1. A nude plumping lip gloss

Any kind of pale gloss would look lovely, but a plumping gloss will just add a little oomph. A plumping gloss’ purpose is to make your lips look fuller. It is like lip injections for less of the cost! A nude gloss will let your natural lip color shine through, so it is a very subdued look. A nude gloss is a staple for a classic ethereal makeup look. Some good nude lip glosses are Nyx Butter Lip Gloss in “Creme Brulee” and Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in “Natural.” The Buxom Lip Polishes and Lip Creams are fabulous plumping glosses as well.
